Gunner and his handler came from Virginia and were in the area of the Living History Farm inside Kings Mountain State Park in South Carolina for a training exercise. But a miracle happened when they were walking near the forest.
All of a sudden Gunner noticed something and rushed into the woods.
His handler searched for him a lot but in vain. So he asked the local cumppinities to help. Though they knew the area it was difficult to find a dog amidst the vast forest. They used all their resources to look for Gunner, from other K9 dogs to ATVs, and even helicopters. However, after 25 hours of itensive searchings, Gunner was finally found.
His handler was impatient to meet him and give him a gentle hug.
