Talent shows, like the one you’re about to watch, are the best place to discover new, fresh voices singing the classics we all know and love.
A talent show may appear to be a novel way to discover new talent, but this is not the case. Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Christina Aguilera, and Beyoncé were all cast members on the 1990s television show “Stars Search,” where they launched their successful careers.
In addition, a slew of music stars emerged from various singing competitions. Leona Lewis, One Direction, Little Mix, and James Arthur rose to prominence on The X Factor UK. Fifth Harmony debuted on The X Factor in the United States, whereas Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Lambert debuted on American Idol, and so on.
Although the most well-known stars have come from the United Kingdom and the United States thus far, other countries also have incredible talent. One of those contestants is Benedikt Köstler, who was 16 at the time of his audition for The Voice. He captivated both the judges and the audience with his outstanding performance.
Benedikt entered the stage dressed neatly and with a freshly done hairstyle, as if he were a typical adolescent. Benedikt’s voice was deeper than expected, and he sang “Always on My Mind,” an Elvis Presley song.
He hasn’t even been singing for ten seconds when the audience erupts in applause, and he has also captured the attention of the judges. Within the same minute, he receives his first “I want you” from the judge, as the audience continues to applaud his performance.
The second judge presses “I want you,” which causes her chair to turn toward Benedikt, and she is taken aback by how he looks, which does not match his voice! Benedikt’s expression and movements now reflect his confidence and happiness, and he begins playing with high notes that impress the other judges, earning him the maximum four votes!
According to everyone who commented, Benedikt was a true find. Even though the show is in German, there are many English comments, demonstrating that good talent is valued globally.
“He had a deep, kind of raspy country voice that I wouldn’t have expected from someone so young,” one viewer remarked, praising Benedikt’s performance. You did an excellent job, Benedikt. I believe I will prepare to watch this several times because I am such a fan.”
