Mattew Heisler from the University of North Dakota passed away in a fire in 2014.
Though he was just 16 years old he wrote a consent to the use of his organs as a donor in case of death. As his parents knew that the boy would soon pass they fulfilled his desire.
The boy’s heart was inserted into Vietnam veteran – Tom Mix who had been waiting for a proper donor organ for the past 3 years.
After the recovery, the old man traveled from Washington to Minnesota so that the parents and sister of the deceased young man could again hear the heartbeat of their son.
