Cat is awarded for her five times she entered a burning building to save her young children.

As parents, we are aware that we would stop at nothing to protect our kids, putting their safety and wellness above our own.

When one mother cat rescued her babies from a blazing building, she put herself in danger.

Firefighters were summoned to a garage fire in Brooklyn when they saw a brave cat bringing her young out of the burning structure one by one.

After carrying her children to safety, she checked each one’s nose to make sure they were still alive. She had to go back inside the burning building five times to save them.

After her daring rescue, the cat, afterwards called Scarlett, passed out.

Firefighter David Giannelli allegedly saw the courageous cat rescue her babies, according to a post on imgur.

“In removing her kittens from the fire, Scarlett herself had suffered terrible burns. Her ears and paws scorched, and her coat was severely singed. Her eyes were blistered shut.

“Much of her facial hair had been destroyed by fire. She was observed touching each of her babies with her nose to make sure they were all still alive after saving the kittens because she was unable to see them due to eye blisters before she passed out.

Firefighters from Brooklyn were able to put out the fire and provide medical help for Scarlett and her little children. Sadly, only one of her offspring lived, but the others were given care and adopted into permanent homes.

Adopted by a Brooklyn family
She even became the topic of numerous publications, including “Scarlett Saves Her Family” and “The Bravest Cat,” as her story gained international media attention.

Scarlett was adopted by a family in Brooklyn and enjoyed 12 joyful years with them until passing away in 2008.

The North Shore Animal League, which cared for Scarlett and her babies, even created an award in her honor to recognize other valiant animals.
