Dog fleeing along a motorway is rescued by a nurse who remarks, “Lucky to be alive.”

A dog was discovered in a perilous predicament on Friday after winding up on a LA freeway, but a nurse intervened to save the day.

The dog was rushing down the 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley and in risk of getting hit by a car, so it was a frightening scenario. Drivers slowed down to try to aid the dog, but the terrified animal kept restraining them and scurrying away.

But Amber Streid, a cardiac nurse, chose a different approach.

According to her interview with FOX 11, “my immediate impulse was to get out of my car and run with the dog, so she wouldn’t be terrified,” but she ultimately made the decision to stay in her car until the situation was appropriate. The dog kept pacing uncomfortably between automobiles, but as Amber opened her car door, the dog hopped inside without hesitation.

The other drivers who drove with the nurse were relieved to learn that the frightened, loose dog had finally been captured. “Someone in a white van and a pair in a vehicle both began clapping. Everyone was really relieved that the puppy might be recovered, Amber said KCAL/KCBS.

The dog was bleeding from cuts to her paws and appeared to be a little worn out from the event. Amber asked her traveling vet, John Winter, to check the dog out, and he luckily declared she was fine.

She’s fortunate to still be alive, but she doesn’t appear to have suffered much, the vet told KCAL. “She does appear to be quite well fed, therefore I do believe she has an owner. She belongs to someone.

Amber took the puppy home with her to take care of her. The dog was unmicrochipped, but she was determined to return her to her rightful owner.

Good goodness the dog is now inside. According to a FOX 11 report, the dog, whose true name is Beautiful, was reunited with her owner after being lost when the family was relocating.

The owner told FOX 11: “I didn’t believe we were going to see her again until a couple nights ago when we first watched the footage. Give the Streid family and Amber our sincere gratitude and admiration for everything.

According to the owner, Pretty was located by the appropriate person, and his dog obviously trusted the nurse to care for her.

“[Pretty] often dislikes women, but she adores Amber… She’s been pursuing her, he continued. It’s incredible; it seems to have been designed to be… Simply said, I’m glad it was her.
