According to the jungle rules no father lion takes care of his cubs but Willow is special.
When the 15-year-old lioness gave birth to the cub Kreme the zoo staff thought that she was old. After a few months, the lioness passed away leaving her child alone.
Kreme used to cuddle with his mom before her death and now he is alone. But the zoo staff was surprised to see how Kreme’s father Willow approached the child and began to cuddle with him.
Fathers usually don’t take care of their cubs in lion herds. But Willow decided to break the jungle stereotypes and care for his cub as needed. Willow had a strong bond with his cub and looked after Kreme like a mother.
