As soon as Leonardo DiCaprio learned that his 13-year-old fan had leukemia, and her last wish was to meet his idol he made up his mind to meet her.
He came to her hospital, and as it turned out, her dream was not the last – the girl defeated cancer.
In 1997, Leonardo DiCaprio visited his young fan Kate in the hospital.
The girl also posted a great meeting photo on her Instagram:
“In honor of Leo’s Oscar… set up a ‘date’ with this incredible star (for the ‘Make a Wish’ promotion). Being a teenage cancer survivor is not easy, but organizations know how to help people like me. Leo is one of the friendliest people I have ever met.
I am very grateful to him for taking time out of his busy schedule for me.”
