Manicures and pedicures are typically thought of as one of the most important components of self-care. Because they cannot bear to have something wrong with their hands or feet, our women schedule procedures at a beauty shop a month in advance. In Hollywood, however, this is definitely not the case. There, women don’t care about pedicures—some don’t even have them—and they don’t even adhere to the most basic standards of sanitation.
