With all the remaining money, David rented a deserted island a few kilometers from Australia and went there with his beloved one. She could not stand such a life and she left David soon after. Since then, the man has lived on the uninhabited island for 26 years. His loneliness is soothed by a dog named Quasi and his favorite activity, making bubbly drinks for David. He also catches fish and crabs and grows vegetables.
David himself built the house out of improvised materials and has lived there for many years.
He also installed solar panels to bring electricity to the house. From time to time travelers and fishermen land on the island.
David communicates with them and treats them with what he has grown or received. According to the man, he understands how much he craves people and communication at such moments, but in loneliness, he still finds harmony and calmness, which he is not yet ready to give up.
