The utopian idea that there is an ideal city on Earth came to real life thanks to a Latvian millionaire.
Aivars Zvirbulis is a Latvian millionaire who bought a 3000-hectare territory and made a true paradise on earth. He built various houses there each with a 0.4 to 1.3 area. There are 300 houses from environmentally friendly materials.
In “The City of Sun” the houses have special rules. All of the have high-speed internet, electricity, and a central sewerage system. All of the houses in Amatciems are warmed with heat from the ground.
The earth’s energy is converted to thermal energy. If there is very cold weather outside the dwellers of Amatciems can light a fireplace.
“The City of Sun” is located near the town of Cesis. The houses are surrounded by a beautiful forest, lakes and rivers.
