A few months ago, Ludwig C. Timm saw activity at his house in Germany. It came out that a little construction project was taking place directly outside his bathroom window.
Timm claims that at first they didn’t give the few little twigs on the ledge much thought. They also thought the wind had transported it there. They then spotted the squirrels building.
The squirrels decided on the place for their future family and nest.
Timm, a photographer, had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture a squirrel up close after the surprise visit, especially when the furry family grew.
But the nest served as more than simply a home. And a nursery, too.
Timm has spent the months keeping a careful eye on the squirrels and their growing offspring outside his window. But among the pictures of their regular lives, one stands out.
Timm recently went to check on the nest. He observed the squirrels curled up and sleeping:
Later, Timm acknowledged that capturing the picture of the sleeping squirrels was a true stroke of luck. The birds normally sleep inside the nest, but on that particularly hot day, they opted to spend the night outside.
It may appear simple to deal with a few sleeping squirrels. But nothing compares to really experiencing it.
And it all began with the first few twigs outside Timm’s window.
It was a good coincidence, he commented.
