The 1987 romantic drama dance movie “Dirty Dancing” has gained cult status, motivating many people to take up dancing and even mimic the routines from the movie, particularly that recognizable lift.
Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze portray the main characters Frances “Baby” Houseman and Johnny Castle, respectively (Swayze). It tells the story of a young woman who discovers love at a resort with a dancing instructor.

Like with every movie, there are a number of production-related mistakes and a few sequences that weren’t included in the final cut. Several of these sequences never appear on the big screen for reasons that most people are unaware of. only to be made available to customers independently.
One such example is this cut sequence of Swayze and Grey acting as themselves, in which Johnny Castle seems to be showing Frances Houseman a few moves in preparation for their performance at the Sheldrake.
Actors who could dance were a requirement of the film’s director, Emile Ardolino.
Swayze was chosen for the job because, in comparison to other candidates, Grey and Swayze seemed to have incredible connection.
