When a Russian guy stopped on a busy road to save the life of a tiny, defenseless kitten, he showed a level of compassion and decency that we wish all people would uphold.
In a terrifying Surveillance footage, a little cat is shown laying in the center of a busy road, repeatedly just escaping death as many vehicles drive by without stopping to save the kitten.
The kitten is repeatedly run over by automobiles and trucks in the video, but fortunately no harm comes to him since he ends up between the wheels rather than under them.
Some vehicles swerve to avoid hitting the kitten, but they still put it in risk of being struck.
The entire time we were watching the automobiles go by, our hearts were in our throats.
The little cat is clearly visible to the vehicles, yet none of them make any attempt to stop and save it.
Instead, the constant flow of traffic continues unabatedly while the poor, scared kitten struggles to get to the shoulder.
But eventually a vehicle comes to a stop.
Nobody has had the courage to save the cat until a man gets out of his car and walks over to do it.
The man is seen scooping up the frightened cat off the street and carrying it back to his car.
The cat is still securely held against his chest as he gets back into the car and starts it.
Now known as Denis Degtyarev, he stated that the kitten was so little that it was still unable to eat on its own in a statement to a Russian publication.
He also shared the good news that, with the aid of his neighborhood, he had assisted in finding the cat a suitable home.
