Autumn was the name of Austen’s cat, who was his lifelong companion. Austen learned how to treat animals from Autumn, who was always kind and patient with him.
She would headbutt him and give him loving hugs every morning to wake him up. Autumn vanished one evening, as cats occasionally do. Everyone hoped that Austen would return home soon as she felt quite unhappy.
After a few days, Austen spent the most of his time sobbing. Austen felt so concerned when Autumn still did not come home that he missed a full week of class.
As it became apparent that there was no sign of Autumn, someone proposed placing her blanket and bowl in the unlocked garage.
