Officers arrived at the residence only to discover that two dogs had dialed 911 sixteen times in the preceding thirty minutes.

Since that dogs are intelligent animals, it’s not completely improbable that they will be able to call 911 if their owner is in danger. When Lakeville, Minnesota police got repeated calls from the same phone number, they most likely had this in mind. As they picked up the phone, all they could hear were dogs howling. The same phone number made sixteen calls in a period of 30 minutes. The police believed there was an emergency even though they couldn’t hear anyone on the other end of the telephone speaking.

When I got to the caller’s house, nobody was there. Homeowners were able to enter once Officer Michelle Roberts made contact with them. It appears that the dogs’ owners left them at home alone while they were at work. The dog’s father placed a phone in his office upstairs. The screen of the phone was set to “emergency calls only,” so while the dogs were playing with it, they continued dialing 911. The father had a lesson to learn from it, and the police officers will never weary of telling people about it because it is such a funny story.
