Dominique Montgomery, a 22-year-old Californian, weighed roughly 290 pounds.
She nearly perished while swimming in the sea two years ago. At high tide, the woman’s added weight prevented her from exiting the ocean.
Dominique claims that her pals were successful in reaching the shore. However, she was too heavy to climb the cliffs and flee.
“I believed I was going to drown; I was terrified and unsure of what to do. I was fortunate that the tide passed swiftly and the water started to go gradually, Montgomery said.
She added that she had never previously worried about being overweight. She would not turn down any food, even “a burrito the size of her own head.”
She was always seized with a sense of hunger.
Dominique stopped trying to combat the issue when she was young, and by the time she was 19, she weighed roughly 265 pounds. However, Dominique made the decision to drastically alter her lifestyle after an event on the beach:
“What am I doing with my life if I cannot get out of the water on my own? A deep sense of disappointment and guilt was present. I became aware of how awfully out of shape I am.
Montgomery tried to eat less and started to walk more frequently and run consistently.
Dominique lost 140 pounds in a year and a half with the help of exercise and a healthy diet.
Sadly, there is still a lot of extra skin on her stomach, so the woman is currently saving money for a surgery to have it removed.
“I already weighed 140 pounds less! I now have new objectives. Dominique posted on Instagram, “And I’m going to teach everyone how vital it is to pay attention to being overweight and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
