Linda Evans Looks Stunning In Her 80s & Views Her Age As ‘An Adventure’

The second of three daughters, Evans was born Linda Evanstad on November 18, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Arlene (née Dart), a professional dancer, and Alva Evanstad’s family. “Evenstad” is the name of a small farm in Ness, Hedmark, Norway, where my paternal great-grandmother immigrated to the United States in 1884 with her young son (Evans’ grandfather) and some relatives.

When Evans was six months old, her family moved from Hartford to North Hollywood. She attended Hollywood High School, where she was the fraternity sister of future actress Carol Wells. Her introduction to theater came through classes she “took as a kind of therapy to cure her shyness.” When she started her professional career, she changed her last name to ‘Evans’.

Evans’ first appearance was in a 1960 episode of The Bachelor. The series starred John Forsythe, who starred in Dynasty 20 years later. After making several guest appearances on The Adventures of Ozzy and Harriet from 1960 to 1962 and guest appearances on television series such as Lieutenant and Wagon Train, Evans returned to her career again in 1965.
